We don’t just cover luxury cars at New Luxury Car Blog. Once in a while we like to mix it up and show you something a bit different. Never thought you’d see a Civic on a luxury car blog? Well, you have to admit that the 2012 new and improved Civic is pretty stylish.

Honda has changed up the Civic’s exterior with a new and fresher clean look. The changes aren’t real dramatic and the 2012 model definitely retains the classic “Civic Look”. If you like to save on fuel costs you will definitely like the new Eco Assist feature. It trains the driver to conserve more gas by accelerating less often and driving at a steady pace. A graphic display changes colors based on how efficient you are driving. Car dealers Macon will offer the new 2012 Honda Civic for sale in Warner Robins, GA.

In addition, Honda even offers a natural gas model for those who want to be environmentally conscious. There are a whopping seven trim levels to choose from. Those who want something a bit sportier should definitely look into the SI model which comes with extra horsepower.

I have always been obsessed with power, status and black luxury cars; I find that nothing exudes authority and makes more of an impression when it comes to cars. Black cars are imposing and convey authority; they make you look twice and wonder who is inside…. The CEO of a Fortune 500 Company? The President of the United States? The Prime Minister of England? Or maybe just little old me.

I like black cars because it’s important for me to be taken seriously. It may be because I’m a female but I NEVER felt taken seriously when I was driving around in a bright green Honda Accord. White cars are not imposing enough for me; they can be gorgeous and very effective when it comes to showing off the finer details of a car such as swooping curves but they seem a bit too feminine for me. Yellow cars are too quirky for me; I don’t want a car to be fun and quirky but powerful darn it!

The Commander In Chief Is Chauffeured In A Black Car

Blue cars are too ordinary and blend too much in the crowd. Grey is a bit too passive and meek for me. Think about it; when you look at important governmental officials and presidential limos their cars are always black. You’ll hardly ever see an executive or president chauffeured around in a white car and I think there is a reason for that; black cars simply evoke prestige and seriousness.

Black cars are just gorgeous; shiny, glossy and rich looking. Especially when they are paired off with some chrome rims. Swoon! Can’t afford a luxury car? No problem. Normal cars like the Nissan Altima Minneapolis also look great in black.

What do you think? What is your favorite color? Is it important for you to come across as “powerful” when you are driving or could you care less? Maybe you prefer yellow or pink cars…. Let’s hear it!

Personally, when I think of exotic cars I think of a car that is fast, high performance and obscenely expensive. Exotic cars aren’t about practicality; they are about freedom, immense wealth and not having a care in the world. Cruising down the freeway at 90mph on the 405 epitomizes the good single life.

Personally I can’t associate SUV’s or minivan’s with anything remotely exciting or glamorous; these cars are the anti-thesis of an exotic car. They symbolize things like having a family, picking up kids from soccer practice and living in the suburbs; not exactly the kind of life I want to have (and believe it or not, I am a woman!). I much prefer the traditional luxury cars like the Lamborghini Gallardo or the Ferrari Italia; now those are real exotic cars.

However, some brands do like to switch it up a bit from time to time and perhaps appeal to a wider market. Lamborghini has done just that with its new luxury SUV; the Urus. When it comes to SUV’s, the Urus is as good looking as a SUV could ever hope to be. Despite it’s practicality (I’ve never been a fan of being practical) it’s incredibly sharp and sexy looking with handsome headlights, sharp lines and a very edgy exterior. Lamborghini hopes to offer these cars for sale to the China and Middle East markets. Pricing is expected to start at $200,000. Horsepower for the Urus stands at 600 hp and the SUV is lightweight in design meaning that it has a strong focus on performance. Emissions are also low which means that the Urus is environmentally friendly.

In conclusion, I think you can definitely have a high-end luxury SUV but never an exotic SUV because SUV’s just aren’t exotic… They are about being practical and I’ve never been a fan of practicality. I always preferred style over function; driving a car to me is an “emotional experience” (feeling powerful, beautiful, on top of the world) and it’s hard to have a profound emotional experience driving something practical.

There seems to be a general feeling that women are generally impressed by guys who drive expensive cars. Some guys even seem to believe that they have a better chance of scoring a date if they drive an exotic or expensive car.

Personally, I have NEVER thought to myself “Wow, that guy driving the 7-series must be loaded! Let me go get some of that!” The feelings I generally get when seeing a guy in a super expensive car such as a Lamborghini or Bentley run anywhere from apathy to envy to motivation. Let me explain further…

Apathy – Most of the time I could care less if a guy drives a $200,000 car. When I DO LOOK, it’s to check out the car and not the guy. Personally, I find no glory in dating a guy driving an expensive car. I am extremely ambitious I would rather work hard enough in order to BUY a $200,000 car myself. What do you gain from sitting in the passenger seat of an expensive car? Absolutely nothing. I would rather be the owner of the car; that’s where the real glory lies. Also, it makes no difference to me if another person can afford an expensive car; it doesn’t affect me personally. I have no interest in being with someone for their wealth; I’d rather have my own wealth.

Envy – Seeing someone in a really nice car will sometimes bring out the green eyed monster in me. It can make me a just a bit sad seeing how someone else has so much while I don’t…. However, that’s not a very healthy way of thinking because there will always be someone richer and wealthier….or prettier… or skinnier… or more successful… That’s just the way of the world.

Motivation – Seeing someone in an expensive car like a Bentley mostly serves as motivation and inspiration. It reminds me of what is achievable in life if you work hard and never give up. If anything, it makes me want to work harder and not slack off so that one day I may achieve that level of wealth and success.

With all this talk about luxury cars, it’s still important to keep in mind that it’s important to live within your means. Dealerships such as GMC Dealer Columbus and Buick Dealer Columbus sell cars that are affordable and reliable. After all; it’s not very impressive to drive an exotic car while living in a tiny apartment. Not to mention the fact that a car is a depreciating liability and not an asset.

In conclusion, there are many women out there who are impressed by the type of cars guys drive and are easily impressed by them. However, to me that is “broke thinking”. Why be content sitting in the passenger seat when you can be the driver and have the wealth and power for yourself? An exorbitantly expensive car doesn’t make a guy more attractive to me; it only serves to make me want to compete with them and win. Since I am competitive, guys in expensive cars inspire me to become more successful in life… it serves as fuel to make me work even harder.

Trust me, when you are 90 years old and lying on your deathbed you do not want to think about your life and think “Wow, the highlight of my life was dating that guy in the Lamborghini”…. Much better to be able to look back and think “What a great life I’ve had; I made millions of dollars, achieved things others can only dream about, owned and enjoyed the best exotic cars and luxury goods that money could buy and lived my life with no regrets…”

Which person would you rather be?

As we all know, gas prices are nearing the $4 per gallon mark in the U.S. In some areas, such as Los Angeles, the price of regular gas is around $4.40 per gallon. Premium gas can cost anywhere from $4.60-$4.90 per gallon depending on where you fill up. As a result many folks these drives are driving much more eco-conscious cars such as the Prius and more compact cars.

What about us luxury car lovers? We all know cars like BMW, Mercedes, Infiniti, Ferrari’s and Bentley’s absolutely require supreme oil. Don’t even THINK about skimping and filling up your car with regular gas if you drive any of these babies; no bueno. However, luxury and exotic cars aren’t about saving a buck or two; these cars are for true enthusiasts who love speed, power and the roar of the engine when you push the pedal to the medal!

The truth is that if the price of gas is causing financial hardship then you have no business driving a luxury car. A luxury car is just that; a luxury. Not a necessity and not a must but an indulgence that only a select few can afford. My Mercedes only gets 17 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the freeway. These are horrible numbers, considering the Prius gets 50 mpg! However, I don’t complain because I like my car and I know that she is worth it! Every single drop of supreme oil… even if it costs $5 a gallon…. And chances are quite high that prices will near the $5 a gallon mark at some point; at least that’s what the experts predict.

Anyways, to keep it all in perspective, keep in mind that Americans pay much less for gas in comparison with many of our international neighbors. In Japan, the going price is over $6.50 per gallon! In Germany gas costs over $8 per gallon! Read the ABC News article on shocking gas prices here. Keeping these figures in mind; U.S prices don’t seem so bad at all.

So if you want to drive a luxury car, expect that high gas prices come with the territory. Otherwise check out something a bit more efficient like the Altima at Nissan Altima Rochester or the Nissan Sentra Rochester. If you can afford a $70,000 car then you certainly can afford $5 per gallon. If you are considering buying a luxury car then definitely keep gas prices in mind. Sure you may find a good deal on a used Benz or BMW but remember that you also have to keep her happy with Supreme oil.

Will gas prices affect your future car buying decisions? I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments…

Apparently Microsoft has a new app out that is supposed to steer pedestrians away from unsafe and sketchier areas… The media has been dubbing it as the “Avoid The Ghetto” App. There’s been quite some controversy about this app since some individuals claim it is discriminatory and politically incorrect.

Microsoft has not yet released what criteria they will use to deem if a neighborhood is safe or not. However, some experts speculate that they will use crime data. This may prove to be problematic because statistics don’t always paint a complete picture. Personally, I think they should use data from violent crime but not the ones from domestic incidents where it’s one family member attacking another. And what about burglary? Should that be counted as well? Since many burglaries do tend to happen in the nicer neighborhoods this may prove kind of tricky.

I think that this app can be useful if you’re new to a city or traveling. I think most locals tend to know where the good and sketchier areas are. I also foresee drivers using this app too; not just pedestrians. I guess I’m a bit paranoid but I’m always aware of the risk and possibility of getting carjacked or even possibly attacked when driving, regardless of whether I’m in a good neighborhood or bad. So I guess this app would be good for people such as myself, who are constantly aware of safety issues 24/7. A lot of it is also a matter of perspective, personally I love El Monte and frequently shop at Nissan El Monte in the SGV area; however someone who isn’t used to the area may not feel the same way. And what about big blocks of cities with high crime such as Detroit, MI? Would the entire city be deemed unsafe in this case?

Either way, we can expect to see quite a bit of backlash and controversy about this new App. What do you think of it? Would you use it? Would you use it to check on your friends to see what kind of neighborhood they live in? Let me hear your thoughts!

So you’ve finally gotten that luxury car you’ve always wanted. Why not keep it in tip-top shape and avoid collisions by learning how to drive defensively? We’ll show you how…

Defensive driving is one of the best ways to avoid accidents. It includes on anticipating the reactions of other drivers, keeping a clear vision of the road ahead and letting the small things slide.

Yielding – When I mention letting the small things slide, I’m talking about yielding and things of that nature. Some drivers are just jerks and will insist on going even if you have the right away. In these type of cases it’s just better to let it go. There’s no point on insisting on the right of way since that can lead to nasty confrontations and no one wants that.

Create Space Around Your Car – This may be impossible during times like rush hour but in general it is a good idea to leave some space around your car. This means avoiding tailgating other cars and not letting others get too close. Try to move up or aside if you’re stuck in a pack of cars. Space will allow you more time to react in case of an emergency.

Look At The Road Ahead – Don’t just stare at the car in front of you. Try to look at the space and cars ahead of you; focus on the open road. This will give you time to react in case there is debris or something going on ahead of the road. Used Cars St Louis offers safe cars that are perfect for defensive driving.

Keep Your Car Maintained – Taking good care of your car ensures that you are less likely to run into mechanical failures.

Kim Kardashian is probably one of the most famous celebrities in the world as of today. Her taste in cars is immaculate and her collection includes a Range Rover, Rolls Royce Phantom and even a brand new Italia Ferrari

Kim’s current ride is a white 458 Ferrari Italia estimated to cost around $325,000 customized by Platinum Motor Sport. All of her cars have been modified by the Los Angeles based company, meaning that they have have been updated with aftermarket rims, tires and other external touches for a one-of-a-kind appearance.

As you would expect from Ferrari, power is intense. It’s powered by an eight cylinder engine with 562 horsepower. Kim’s daily driver is a lot more practical; it’s the Range Rover, a luxury SUV manufactured by Land Rover. It offers tons of cargo space which is perfect for carrying round tons of shopping bags. If you are ever in the Bay Area, check out Land Rover San Francisco for great deals on the Range Rover. MSRP for the Range Rover starts around $80k. The 2012 Land Rover 2 is more affordable and priced at around $36k.

In addition to the Ferrari and Range Rover, Kim also currently owns a white Phantom Rolls Royce, estimated to cost $355,000. Her custom rims are estimated to cost around seven thousand dollars. Her Rolls also has custom floor mates and special LED lights. Kim also used to cruise around town in a Black Bentley GTC that was also prominently featured in an episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians. However, I haven’t seen her photographed in it recently so can’t confirm if she still has the Bentley. Either way, we think she’ll do just fine with the cars she has for now!

Do you ever chat on your cell phone while driving? Despite the fact that it is illegal to use a hand held device while driving, I see many people doing it every day in California.

The federal government wants to take it one step further and take the ban nationwide. This means that all drivers will need to use bluetooth services if they want to make a phone call. Used Cars Los Angeles dealer Galpin is running some great deals on cars with Bluetooth capabilities.

You can always tell when someone is on the phone. You can see their cars going in and out of their lane plus they seem to have a delayed reaction to green lights and red lights. However, is bluetooth that much safer? Some activists want bluetooth banned as well since they argue that it isn’t the act of holding the phone that is dangerous but the actual cognitive distraction. Holding a conversation takes away mental capabilities which should be focused on driving.

A recent accident in Missouri caused a catastrophic accident which injured thirty eight people prompted the proposal. The accident was caused by a teen who was texting when the accident happened. It’s a controversial issue because many individuals feel that this type of regulation is too severe. Some people are wondering why there is such an emphasis on cell phone use when we’re constantly bombarded with distractions such as other passengers or eating while driving.
Talking on the phone is actually quite different from having a conversation with a passenger. Passengers know what’s going on in the car and may even warn the driver if they notice something dangerous. Not to mention the fact that a passenger has a lot on the line; his or her own safety. When you’re talking with someone over the phone, that person has no idea as to what the driver is dealing with. There is also more pressure for someone to keep talking while their on the phone in order to keep the conversation flowing.

The statistics show that accidents have dropped in California since cell phone use has been regulated. It will be interesting to see if any other states will follow suit.

In the world of luxury automobiles there are slick, fast sports cars, large glamorous SUV’s, and smooth elegant sedans. That world is about to expand even more. Next time you are rolling down the road and think you see a Fiesta, you might want to do a double take because it could be Mercedes. That’s right, the famed car maker is coming out with the A class line, series of small, subcompact vehicles to be in the coming months.

The A class will include a coupe, a wagon, a crossover version and even a hatchback. Of course, size is the only similarity that it will have with a Ford. As per usual you can expect the highest quality and design that Mercedes is known for.

Due to rising gas prices, fuel regulations and urban driving preferences, Mercedes is convinced there exist a market in the United States and expects to sell around 15,000. BMW already sells a small size model in a coupe and convertible in the States. Their sales totaled around 8,800 last year. Of course you won’t be able to buy one used anytime soon, as they won’t hit the dealers until 2014. For your own great ride, come to used cars today.

With a Mercedes sticker price, many wonder if buyers would spend that much money on such a small car. Not only that, even if gas prices rise, most Mercedes owners have enough money to afford it, keeping the current Mercedes a popular choice. Still, Mercedes execs are optimistic and expect robust sales. Regardless, everyone will have to wait and see what happens, since the A series won’t hit the dealers until 2014.

If you need a used vehicle, we can help.
