Most teens are very excited to learn how to drive; most can’t wait to get their first car and go for a cruise. However, most parents are probably a bit nervous about their teens getting behind the wheel and rightfully so. Many teens get involved in dangerous accidents due to immaturity and recklessness.

Many issues like to push the limits when it comes to driving; especially if they drive a fast car like a Camaro from Chevy Minneapolis or a sporty Nissan Altima Fort Worth . As a result, many participate in risky behaviors such as speeding, cutting off other drivers, engaging on road rage or even illegal street racing. Have a serious talk about your teen about the dangers of these behaviors. Communication is imperative and parents have a great influence when it comes to the driving behaviors of their teens.

Drinking and driving happens more with teens than adults. Car crashes are the leading cause of death among teens. One of the three fatal crashes among teens involves the use of alcohol. 18 year old have the highest crash rate in the U.S. Another contributing is that teens are less likely to use seat belts than adults.

Let your teen know about the dangers of stepping inside the car with a drunk friend. Let them know they should take the keys away from their intoxicated friend and that getting in the car can lead to a dangerous and even fatal accident. Let them know that they can always call you and that you will pick them up in this type of situation. It’s not just the drunk drivers that get hurt; passengers can get hurt too.

Despite these dangers; technology gives some of the power back to the parents. Ford Motor Company has an optional system available for installation on cars like the Ford Fusion St Louis and Ford Explorer St Louis called the Ford MyKey System. This system let’s parents control the audio and speed of the vehicle while their kids are behind the wheel. Parents can limit the speed. It can’t take curb all of your teen’s bad habits but it can definitely help.

Car buying demographics is very important to the automotive industry. We all know that younger buyers tend to gravitate to specific cars while older individuals may prefer another make and model. Let’s explore automotive demographics in detail.

Younger folks tend to prefer the affordable cars. Most of us don’t have that much money while we are in college or working at our first job out of school. Popular cars include the Nissan Altima Los Angeles, Nissan Maxima Los Angeles and Nissan Versa Los Angeles. These cars are friendly on the pocketbook while maintaining a youthful energy and fun vibe that is attractive to younger consumers.

Middle aged folks are usually getting settled into their careers and may want something a bit more sophisticated and conservative. Most have access to disposable income now and thus can afford pricier autos such as those in the middle-level luxury segment.

Then we have the cars that appeal to a wide demographic. One good example of this is the Toyota Prius Tustin . This car has universal appeal due to the expensive cost of gas. No one wants to spend more than they have to pump. On top of that, we’re all equally worried about environmental concerns. Looks like the Prius has hit a chord with most Americans.

If you were a kid and didn’t have Hot Wheels (what’s wrong with you?) then you most certainly had a Matchbox car. The Matchbox name started as a brand name for the British owned die-cast toy manufacturer Lesney Products. Before Matchbox car there biggest sales success was a replica of Queen Elizabeth’s II coronation coach which sold a million models.

They Matchbox car as we know it was created in 1953 by Jack Odell. His daughter could only take toys to school that could fit into a matchbox. So it was he set out to design a car that could do just that and it wasn’t before long that the Matchbox cars came into existence. Their clever packaging and affordability made them an instant hit with kids everywhere. They were so popular that the term “Matchbox” became a catch phrase for all small cars of a similar type even to this day.

Lesney was founded by Jack Odell, Leslie Smith and Rodney Smith, who combined names to make Lesney. In the 1950’s British die cast toys were very popular, namely Dinky, Corgi and Matchbox. They each had their own niche markets and most of their products were successful. Among toy collectors this period is known as the “Golden Era” of British die cast toys. Come to used car financing for a great loan today.

The earliest series of Matchbox cars were called the 1-75 series, even though they didn’t nearly have that number of cars. As time went by, Lesney attempted to expand their markets new series of cars. One of these was the Models of Yesteryear, a remake of classics from the early age of automobiles. Other additions were the Major Packs, large scale construction vehicles, and the King Sized series, which was a larger scale truck and tractor set. In 1968 Matchbox was at the top of its game and nobody else came close. That is until Mattel invented the Hot Wheels, with their revolutionary low friction, high speed “race” wheels. The Hot Wheels were painted bright, metallic colors and had fancy mag wheels on slick designs. It was a nightmare for Matchbox as their U.S. market collapsed.

Matchbox scrambled to come up with their own answer to Hot Wheels and created the “Superfast” series also sold with tracks and accessories. While these car were in production, Matchbox redesigned their cars and retooled their machines to match the scale and width of Hot Wheels. By the early 1970’s they were back in business challenging the Hot Wheels supremacy. Do all of your used car research with us.

Due to financial difficulties in England in the 1980s Matchbox was sold to Universal Toys and production was moved to China. In 1992 Universal was bought out by Tyco Toys, who continued to produce the cars. In 1997 disaster struck and Mattel bought out Tyco. There had always been a fierce competition between collectors of each brand and Matchbox fans feared Mattel would change the way they were made. However, Mattel had no intention of changing things and continues to produce Matchbox cars the way they have always been done. Much to collectors delight. Come to used cars for a great deal today.

The flying car, sci-fi movies have all dreamed up some form of it. From the Jetson’s little cartoon car that makes that cute noise to the flying taxis of The 5th Element, everyone has dreamed of how cool it would be to scoot around in your personal flyer. Now that dream just may become reality in the next few years.

The biggest problem with flying vehicles is how can the population safely navigate all these vehicles without hitting each other or causing serious problems. The answer to that, not surprisingly, lies with NASA. They have developed a program called “the highway in the sky” and its purpose is to enable simple navigation of airplanes and other flying vehicles. For a great deal on a used car come see us!

Think of it as essentially a video game that flies a plane. The pilots have a screen with a plane in a box on it. Their job is to keep the plane inside the box, safely avoiding other vehicles and the plane’s auto pilot take you to where you want to be, even to a safe landing. The program can even help airline passengers planes navigate in bad weather or other unfavorable conditions.

Sure, you might think, we have the satellites, GPS and nice navigation systems, but what about the actual vehicles? Meet Woody Norris, inventor of the AirScooter, a personal flying machine that he hopes to have available for sale within the next year. If you are in Virginia and need a used car, come see our huge selection.

A small cockpit with a wide open view of everything around sits on what is essentially a helicopter with a set of counter spinning rotating blades. What looks like a set of motorcycle handle bars controls the machine. Push forward and the AirScooter moves forward, pull back and it moves back. It’s that simple.

The AirScooter can fly for up to 2 hours at a speed of around 55mph. It has a maximum ceiling of 10,000 feet and will only cost about $50,000 dollars. Not bad for a flying machine. To top things off, you don’t need a pilot’s license to fly under 400 feet in non-restricted space. So how serious is this? It is series enough that Norris recently won the Lemelson-MIT award. This award is a half-million dollar cash prize that goes to the top inventor of the year.

If you don’t like the AirScooter and can wait a little longer you might be able to purchase the SkyCar. In what is being described as a cross between a Ferrari and the Batmobile, this flyer has four rotary engines that can lift off and then tilt to propel it forward. It is being designed to travel at 300mph and up to 20,000 feet.

The SkyCar is still about 10 years away from being a reality, and with its potentially high price, high speed and high altitude it will primarily see early use in military, law enforcement and search and rescue type roles. Still the potential for mass consumer production is something that its creator Paul Moller envisions for his product someday.

So if you think you have seen it all, think again. The future is right around the corner and it’s on a highway to the sky.

For a huge selection of used cars in Arizona come see us.

As we all know, driving can be a bit dangerous. Here are some tips to help you drive safely and hopefully avoid a fender bender.

Watch out for pedestrians. They aren’t always in plain sight either. If you live in a big city you’ll notice many people jay walking or walking in between cars when traffic is jammed which can be rather dangerous. Also be careful of drivers who are parked on the street and opening their doors in order to exit their cars.

Always double check before you hit the gas pedal when the light turns green. Make sure there aren’t any cars on the other side running a red light. Getting hit on the side by someone running a red light can be one of the most serious type of accidents.Check out OC Nissan for great deals on Orange County, CA.

Don’t pay any mind to the erratic drivers or tailgaters; just move over and let them pass. There is no need to get worked up over it and follow them back to “teach them a lesson”. That’s how road rage incidents occur. Looking for cars in Los Angeles? Check out Subaru Los Angeles and Los Angeles Honda.

Make sure that your seat is positioned correctly before you start your car. Make sure that you have a clear view of the road ahead. Make sure that you have a clear view from the rear view and side mirrors as well.

Used Cars Burnsville and Used Cars St Paul offer great deals on used cars in MN.

Here are some of the most dangerous freeways in America.

California State Route 17 – This road winds through the Santa Cruz and boasts plenty of blind curves and driving at steep altitudes. A dangerous section known as the Big Moody Curve sports an intense 180 degree turn. Drivers also need to be aware of wildlife crossings too which even adds to the danger

The Arroyo Seco Parkway- Also known as the 110 or Pasadena freeway. This freeway was built more than 50 years ago when cars were smaller and not able to travel as fast. It was definitely not built to withstand the massive trucks, big rigs and SUV’s that pass by every day. Used Cars Los Angeles offers great deals on autos in L.A

The interchange from the Long Beach Freeway into the 5 Santa Ana freeway is dangerous because of the sheer number of trucks who are sharing the road with cars. Some cars will get stuck between trucks and remain in a truck’s blind spot which can lead to serious disaster.

Used Car Trade In deals can be found at Enterprise Car Sales. Dave Sinclair Buick St Louis offers a large selection of new cars such as the Ford Escape St Louis, Ford Ranger St Louis and Ford F150 St Louis.

Planning on driving in the city soon? Here are a few things you need to consider before you venture into a big city by car

Parking – It is expensive to park in big cities like L.A If you are lucky you might find street parking. Never pay to park your car in a garage structure until you scope out the area for free parking. If you look close enough you might be able to find some. Meters are another option but they are only good for 2 hours before you need to add in more quarters.

Traffic- Traffic is atrocious no matter what time of day it is you’ll probably end up in a traffic jam. Checking Sigalert before you leave may help a little. So can a GPS that provides traffic info.

Potholes – The roads in big cities like L.A are inundated with potholes and cracks. Be lucky if your tires don’t suffer damage as a result of driving over these roads. South Coast Toyota dealer Orange County Toyota offers great deals in The O.C

Rude drivers – This isn’t Kansas anymore. People here are in a hurry and got places to go. Drivers tend to be more aggressive in general and they will get mad if you are driving slower than the flow of traffic. Expect to be tailgated and perhaps even flipped off. Car Repairs San Francisco offers service and repairs in the Bay Area.

More pedestrians – It’s not like the suburbs where everyone drives. Cities tends to have lots of people walking around. Watch out for them! Many folks will jaywalk or cross the road when the light is red.

As gas prices continue to rise we see more and more folks turning to public transit as a more affordable way to get around. Is it really worth it though?

The answer depends a lot on your personal tolerance levels and your financial situation. If your finances are tight and saving money is important to you, it would make sense to take the bus. Especially if you like in a city with great transit system like San Francisco or NY. If you place a premium on privacy, don’t enjoy walking in the streets and don’t want to have to deal with strangers then taking the car is the best way to go, even if it costs more.

Not all cities have great transportation systems btw. Some suburban communities don’t have good systems at all. Keep in mind that when you take the bus you have to sit next to a stranger. To some folks this isn’t a big deal; some friendly folks even enjoy talking to strangers. Well, I’m not one of them; I prefer being in the privacy of my own car. I don’t want to have to be subjected to overhearing random conversations of fellow passengers either. I want to be able to listen to any song I want on the radio and roll down my windows as I please. Don Johnson Motors is an Eau Claire Chevrolet, Eau Claire GMC and Buick Eau Claire dealer with a great selection of cars.

The advantage of utilizing public transportation is that you don’t have to be responsible for the cost of maintaining and repairing a vehicle (if you decide to give up your car). You will also be able to skip expensive registration costs and insurance fees. Experts estimated that the average individual would probably be able to save nine or ten thousand dollars a year which is a significant amount of money.

Personally, I would still rather drive. My personal comfort level and sanity is more important than saving money. I like my car and I enjoy driving. Car dealers Anaheim offer Used Cars Orange County at excellent low prices.

Smart phones like the iPhone makes our lives so much easier. And these phones sure are “smart” all right. Check out these fun iPhone apps for your car!

Leasing can be complicated process; Ilease is an application that allows you to figure how much your lease will actually cost you.

GreenMeter is an application that can keep track on how much you are spending on gas and how much gas you have used so far. It’s a great app if you are ready to go green or are simply concerned with gas costs.

Milebug is a great app that helps you keep track of how many miles you have driven. You can even export the reports. This is great for anyone who utilizes their car for business purposes and needs to report it as an expense.

Do you prefer to use alternative fuels rather than the conventional gasoline or diesel? If you do, then you know how difficult it is to find stations that offer such fuels. However, an app called GreenFuel helps you find the closest alternative fuel station.

Ever hear a song on the radio and love it but can’t figure out who the artist is? Shazam is an app that will identify the song and artist right away. GMC Wentzville offers grea deals on cars. Lincoln Dealership Florissant serves all of St Louis.

Dave Sinclair Ford dealer St Louis ford offers great deals on quality rides in the state of MO.

Want to avoid speed traps? One app that can help is called Trapster. It helps you avoid speed traps. Remember to always drive safe though; speeding is dangerous.

Having problem passing the DMV test? To be honest, it’s not exactly the hardest test in the world but apparently some folks do fail. Drive Safe is a cool app that teaches you how to pass the test. You practice by answering multiple questions on your phone. Now you can learn while in line at the store or in the bathroom. Great!

I truly believe that most men are immensely intimidated by women driving expensive autos such as Infiniti, BMW, Mercedes, Aston Martin and Porsche.

Men like to think of themselves as “caretakers” and when they see a successful, powerful woman driving an expensive automobile it threatens their masculinity and they can’t seem to handle it. A lot of them will become spiteful and make assumptions like “It’s probably her father’s car” or “Her family brought it for her” or “She probably has a rich husband”. Incorrect on all counts; I actually paid for my luxury car in CASH, with money I earned from my own business (which was very successful for many years).

Personally, I have encountered drastic differences in the way that I am treated depending on what car I drive. When I used to drive an older early 90’s model Honda Accord guys used to try to talk to me all the time when I was driving. Now that I drive a luxury car, it really seems like everyone is super intimidated by me. Especially if my car is nicer than theirs! (Not that it matters, but most of the time, it is!) As a successful and independent woman, I don’t care at all what kind of car a guy drives; I could care less to be honest.

Let’s take a look at a high performance luxury car; take the Infiniti G37 for example. I figure most men would be quite intimidated by a woman driving it because the G37 is generally thought of as a very powerful and high performance car. The engine is six cylinder 3.7 Liter 330hp engine which is a lot more powerful than the average car. Pricing for the G37 starts at around $32k.

I have actually heard some guys state on internet message boards that powerful cars like Mercedes AMG, Porsche’s and Aston Martin’s are “wasted” on female drivers because apparently we are “afraid” to push the car to its limit by driving fast. What a bunch of nonsense! I have seen plenty of women “floor it” and hit very high speeds. Just because we are females doesn’t mean we can’t fully appreciate top cars. Anyone can appreciate the “performance” aspect of a car and really ride it hard on the freeway.

Now let’s look at an auto that is completely different; the Accord by Honda. Standard engine is a V4 with 190 hp. The Accord has a solid reputation for being a durable, reliable and efficient auto. Pricing starts at around $21k. Most guys, in my opinion, would not be intimidated by a woman in an Accord because it’s considered affordable and practical. I suppose most guys assume women prefer to drive something that is “practical” and “affordable”. Lincoln Dealer St Louis offers great deals on Lincoln MKS St Louis.

This type of thinking is very outdated. It’s 2011 now; women are making more money than ever. In many cases, we are earning more than men. Expect to see more women in expensive cars than ever before!

Looking for a used luxury car? Gaudin Motor offers certified used cars Las Vegas and certified pre-owned cars Las Vegas at great prices.
